I’m really intrigued by the durability of this Epstein case. It does not seem to have required the watering can of legitimate news reporting: conspiracies have their own source of nourishment. For instance, I don’t think the WSJ story about DOJ having told Trump his name was in the documents had any appreciable effect on opinions, mainly because Trump has done such a thorough job discrediting the legitimate news media. But I know that every President has at least one big crisis. Waco, 9/11, Covid, Serbian genocide of Bosnian Muslims, Iran-Contra, et cetera. Trump utterly failed to perform a leadership role in the Covid crisis. It remains to be seen what sort of crisis we will face in the coming three years and a half.
I am very afraid that it will have something to do with the confluence of AI and Bitcoin. And I believe this crisis will come absolutely unexpectedly, and that it will shake the very foundations of the dollar-based economy.
I really hope I’m wrong.
